This is a 90 minute open work session for you to come and meet the support team; meet other WashU Sites users; learn how others are using WashU Sites; share ideas, lessons learned and struggles; tell us what you would like to learn; ask questions about your site or work through specific problems not covered in the WashU Web Theme training; and receive one-on-one assistance in a group setting.

Stop by any time during the session. Registration is encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome.

Prerequisites:

  1. You must have a WashU Site already created and you must be an admin on the site in order to attend this class.

  2. This course is designed for people who have some experience using a website content management system (CMS) such as Joomla, SharePoint, Drupal or WordPress.
    1. If you’re brand new to editing websites, we recommend a quick introduction to website basics before attending this class. Watch this video on The Parts of a Website Design and you should be ready to go. (Video length = 7:16)
    2. If you’ve coded a website or used a tool like Dreamweaver but have no CMS experience, we recommend you watch this video on CMS Fundamentals before attending this class. (Video length is 2:54.) You’ll find CMS-ing quite different from hand-coding!
